We found her on a tiny remote island, not far from Hotel Korinjak on Iž, where I was hosting a yoga retreat.

There was no one else on the island, no human life, and no other cats. We were the last guests of the season, as it was already October, and we had arrived in a small fishing boat, just our group.

Had we not come that day, there’s no way this little little soul would have survived. She was hungry, tired and scared, and there was no food or water source, except for the sea, the grass, the shrubs and the bugs.

Luckily we were a group of animal lovers and we gave her food and water, and a trip back by boat to the land, where she could be taken care of.

However, Star, as she has been named, is in need of healthcare and the nearest vets are in Zadar on the mainland, which requires a ferry journey there and back.

I have agreed to do as she needs treatment for her cough, vaccinations and also sterilisation in the coming weeks.

Obviously there are costs involved for all this, just over 100€ in vet’s fees, plus travel, and some provisions for the cat like a carrier, a bed, litter tray etc.

So I am offering this class in exchange for donations for Star, and the care she needs, in the hope we can give her the best care after such a difficult start.

All proceeds will go towards the Star fund, and will be gratefully received.
