Less Lion, More Mermaid 🧜‍♀️

I’ve been quiet for a while, but today I woke up and I felt different.

It’s been a whirlwind of energy running up to today, some of it fantastically positive and fun, with guests from all over the world, but also a feeling of intensity and overwhelm in the harsh heat of summer and the feeling that something was bubbling under the surface.

The sea has been my sanctuary, the soft, flowing energy, whether it’s the calm in the mornings or the golden path of the sun setting over the water, creating the most beautiful glittering magic.

As always, nature has been the answer.

Sun, water and salt – life-givers. The bare necessities of our very existence.

The key lies in the balance though. I’m never out in the heat of the midday sun; I get my Vitamin D fix in the mornings and evenings. The sun is balanced by the water, and the salt adds essential minerals whether it’s in the form of swimming in the sea, or adding a touch of sea salt to my drinking water.

Things only become problematic when there is an excess of anything; more than we need.

I’ve felt this a lot throughout July. What’s happening on the global platform affects the collective energy, and that then affects me personally.

There’s a big fire energy at the moment, and being Leo season in the heat of the Summer, I’m sensing too much brash energy, too much warrior spirit.

We have enough predatory energy in the world right now. Everyone trying to be king of the jungle, fighting for what they think is right, and it’s just too much. I’m done with the fight.

What I feel I need is more softness, flow, connection – to nature and to each other. Like the ocean, which connects us all.

We are even more water than I think we realise. If you consider the body on a molecular level, we are more like 95% water, yet look around and very few people seem fluid in the way they move through life.

Even in practices such as yoga, I see rigidity, a lack of softness or fluidity, just harsh lines and ego-led gymnastic feats.

For me, this isn’t it.

The answer is to remember we are like water, we are the ocean, the same ocean. How we move tends to inform how we show up in the world.

So I’m on a mission to bring softness, flow and compassion back into our movement, and this Friday night I’m leading a session to help people “Embody The Ocean”.

It’s for everyone, especially beginners or those who are open and can adopt a beginner’s mind.

Softness doesn’t mean a lack of strength. The ocean is as strong as it is calm, and it’s fluid, of course, so it can adapt.

If we apply the principles of the ocean to our body and to our life, we can more easily ride the waves, and weather the storm.

We can be strong to the core, in who we are – centring and grounding ourselves is still essential – but when we let go and flow, something magical happens to our whole being.

Things light up, literally, like phosphorescence, which is light on salt water.

Imagine that… within us, we have the potential to be the same. Lit up, like the glittering path from the Sun across the water…..

Can you imagine this??

I invite you to join me live online or take a little 90 minutes of sanctuary in these next few days to feel what I mean by this.

The workshop is available live on Zoom Friday 9th August 630-8pm GMT or to watch again from Saturday am.

To register you can sign up below and feel free to share the recording with your friends.
